Visit FutureTech as community partner
On March 11th 2026 I had the pleasure to visit FutureTech as a community partner. FutureTech is a technology focused conference mainly focused on .NET and Azure. As being a new member of the organizing team of DOTNET Zuid I was invited to visit the conference and just have a good time talking to all those amazing people.

Welcome at FutureTech
Sessions
I had the pleasure to attend a lot of sessions, these are the ones that stood out for me:
- The keynote by Kevlin Henney about “The future of software development” was very inspiring and made me think about how we can make software development more sustainable and enjoyable in the future.
- Beyond Trust: Building community driven security analysis for your .NET software supply chain by Niels Tanis was a great session about how to use open source tools to analyze the security of your .NET dependencies and how to contribute to the community by sharing your findings.
- Aspire for Frontend Apps by Gerald Versluis on how to use Blazor and Aspire to streamline your frontend development.
- Use AI to build AI by Maddy Montaquila on how Microsoft is using AI to generate code and how to use it in their development workflow.
- User Marten to build event sourced apps with no regrets by Hannes Lowette event sourcing always had my interest but I’m not doing enough with it.

Finally seeing Maddy in person again
Community
My visit to FutureTech was not just to visit sessions, having cool conversations with other attendees over a hot (or cold) beverage was also a big part of the experience. I had some great conversations with people about .NET, Azure, security, and of course the community. I also met quite a few regular attendees of DOTNET zuid community meetups.
Overall it was a great experience and I’m looking forward to visiting FutureTech again next year. If you want to join me next year, make sure to follow FutureTech on their website, the next edition is March 10th & 11th 2027.
