Experts Live 2026: Masterclass Identity

The biggest community driven event around the Microsoft ecosystem in The Netherlands is Experts Live. And in 2026 the organization had the idea to do one day of deep dive masterclasses before the regular conference day.

I was asked by Jan Bakker to join the Identity masterclass. A full day on everything identity in Microsoft Entra.

Listening and doing

An entire day of consuming knowledge is not doable, so we decided to make different chunks. A short presentation followed by the attendees getting some hands on experience on that topic. This was received well according to the feedback.

Full room

As this was the first year they organized masterclass at Experts Live, we had now idea what to expect. Near the event we got a signal that some masterclass where “sold-out” including ours. What a great way to start with masterclasses at a conferences.

They planned the masterclasses in rooms that could hold 60 people, with a chair and a table to put your laptop on. And all the speakers had to stand, there were litterally zero chairs left (something to fix for next year 😉).

Adversary in the middle

After about 10 minutes into the masterclass Jan Bakker showed how easy it was to create an adversary in the middle attack using cloudflare workers. Not only the demo shocked everyone, we also shared the first lab where attendees were able to set this up them self within minutes.

Maester

I had to do a part on Maester off course. Showing of Maester is cool and all, but Maester is better if you just see what it will tell you on your own tenant. So after a short demo everybody had a chance to run Maester for them self, against their test tenant off course 😂!!

See you next year

All the masterclass attendees seem to have enjoyed the day, the organization just announced that there will be a masterclass day next year as well. Hopefully I will be invited to be part of this experience next year.
